| Sox Release MIA Colon |
SEATTLE (AP) -- The Chicago White Sox requested waivers on Wednesday for Bartolo Colon, ending the right hander's strange second stint with the club. Colon had offseason surgery to clean up some bone chips in his elbow and agreed to a $1-million, one-year contract with the White Sox in January. But the 2005 AL Cy Young Award winner had more injury problems with Chicago and team officials said he couldn't be located several times during rehab assignments. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen also was disappointed that Colon didn't fully participate with the club's rehab plan for him. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
