| Looper Wins 13th as Brewers Beat Cubs |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Braden Looper pitched five innings for his career-high 13th win and Alcides Escobar went 4 for 5 with three RBIs as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 9-5 Wednesday night.
Looper (13-6), who won 12 games in each of the two previous seasons with the Cardinals, struggled at times. He allowed five runs and nine hits, including a two-run homer by Aramis Ramirez in the fifth, and walked three.
The Brewers collected 13 hits and drove Chicago starter Rich Harden (9-9) after three innings. Escobar's four hits and three RBIs were career highs.
