| Bears LB Hillenmeyer Gets His Chance |
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Bogged down by injuries last season and unsure he would even make the Chicago Bears this year, Hunter Hillenmeyer suddenly has quite a task on his hands.
All he has to do is replace the injured Brian Urlacher.
Hillenmeyer is taking over at middle linebacker for the Bears and stepping into one of the most storied defensive positions in the NFL. The task starts Sunday when the Bears host the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers at Soldier Field.
Hillenmeyer says his job "is not to go try to be Brian Urlacher" and that the burden is on the defense as a whole. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
