Cubs Activate Johnson from D-L; Call Up First Rounder Colvin
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs activated outfielder Reed Johnson from the 15-day disabled list and called up former first-round draft pick Tyler Colvin to replace the suspended Milton Bradley on the roster.

Johnson went on the disabled list on July 30th after breaking his left foot when he fouled a ball off of it the previous day. Johnson is hitting .252 with four homers and 20 RBIs.

The 24-year old Colvin was drafted in 2006, but needed reconstructive elbow surgery in 2008. He was called up from Double-A Tennessee and made his debut in center field against the Brewers Monday night after Bradley was suspended for the season for critical comments about the organization.

The team designated right-hander Thomas Diamond for assignment.
