High School Boys Golf

Galesburg High School won a Western Big Six dual meet against rival Moline at Lake Bracken.

The Silver Streaks combined to shoot 157, six strokes better than the Maroons.

David Blake and Kelby Rescinito both led GHS with a 2-over par 38s. Moline's Mitch Medinger earned medalist honors with a course-low 37.

The Streaks junior varsity team also won, beating Moline by 12 strokes. Riley VanVelsor led the way for GHS with a 37.


Knoxville won a triangular meet against Williamsfield and North Fulton.

The Blue Bullets, who shot 169, improved to 6-4 on the season. Knoxville's Josh Van Antwerp was the medalist with a low score of 39.

Williamsfield finished second, 13 shots off the pace, and North Fulton was third with a combined score of 203.


Monmouth-Roseville defeated Rockridge and lost to Sherrard in an Olympic Conference triangular meet at Pinnacle Country Club.

Sherrard combined to shoot 166. The Titans finished second at 173 and Rockridge was third with a 183.

Matt McVey's 42 was the low score for Monmouth-Roseville.

The Titans junior varsity team defeated Rockridge and Sherrard (193-216-226). Max Richardson's 46 was the top score for Monmouth-Roseville.


Mid-County (Rowva-Galva) won a triangular meet at Kewanee Dunes against Orion and Erie. Mid-County combined to shoot 173, 18 strokes ahead of Orion and 24 better than Erie.


Ridgewood won a dual meet against Princeville at Valley View. The Spartans shot 172 to the Princes' 234. The low score was a 39.

High School Girls Golf

Galesburg High School won a dual meet against Geneseo at Lake Bracken Country Club.

The Streaks beat the Maple Leafs by 13 strokes (191-204.) Marissa Vinson led GHS with a 46. Geneseo's Allison Farrell was the medalist after she shot a 44.

Allie Johnson had the top junior varsity score for Galesburg with a 55.


Knoxville defeated Macomb by six strokes (186-192) at Laurel Greens.

Medalist honors went to the Blue Bullets' Abby Ball and Chelsea Hadsall of Macomb. Both carded 40s.

Taylor Thompson contributed a 43 for Knoxville.

High School Volleyball

Rowva defeated West Central in three games (25-20, 18-25, 25-18).

The Tigers (2-10, 1-1 LTC) got 9 kills from Whitney Stromson, 3 aces, 5 assists and 16 points from Megan Steck and 14 digs from Grace Cleair.

West Central (0-10, 0-3 LTC) was led by Taylor Cupps with 5 kills and an ace. Alisa Crandall contributed 11 points.


United is now 15-0 after beating Annawan (9-9) in two games (25-18, 25-19).

Knoxville (7-5) downed Williamsfield (4-11) in two games (25-20, 25-21)

Princeville (10-5) dropped Galva (1-10) in two games (25-12, 25-9).


Wethersfield downed Mercer County in two games (25-12, 25-19).

Teague Holmes led Mercer County with 3 blocks and 2 kills while Kadee Headley had 2 blocks and 3 kills. Emily Frieden and Emma Downey added 6 digs apiece and Meghan Dillie contributed 5 points.


Orion stopped Ridgewood in two games (25-16, 25-20).

The Chargers improved to 13-3 overall (3-0 Olympic). Kayla Fowler led the winners with 9 kills, 2 aces and 11 digs. Megan Blumenshine added 6 kills, 2 aces and 13 digs.

Michelle Williams had 5 kills for the Spartans, Danyelle English 2 aces and 5 digs and Amanda Kruger 5 digs.

Orion also won the sophomore and freshman matches.
