| Patrick to Stay with IRL |
MOTEGI, Japan (AP) -- Danica Patrick has reached an agreement on a three-year contract to remain at Andretti Green Racing and stay in the IndyCar Series. Patrick, the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in last year's Indy Japan, is finishing her fifth season in the IndyCar series and is fifth in the point standings. Patrick had been rumored to be considering a move to NASCAR and still could compete in a limited number of NASCAR lower division races. The agreement was first reported by the Indianapolis Star. It is expected to be officially announced at a later date. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
