MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL

The St Louis Cardinals will have to wait at least another day to celebrate a divisional crown as they lost to the Colorado Rockies last night 2-1. The Rockies got a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win. The Cardinals magic number to clinch the National League Central Division stands at one.

The Cubs didn't do their part to help the Cardinals as they defeated the San Francisco Giants 3-0. Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano pitched a complete game two-hitter and drove in two runs.

The Chicago White Sox watched their mid-season acquisition Jake Peavy pitch seven innings and have eight strikeouts in the Sox 2-0 win over the Detroit Tigers. Gordon Beckham also homered for the White Sox.
