|The Carl Sandburg College men's and women's soccer teams had a rough weekend at home against Heartland College and at South Suburban.
The CSC men's team lost to Heartland 10-0 on Saturday. The Chargers were outshot 20-2 in the match. Sandburg lost again Sunday against South Suburban 5-0 in South Holland. CSC (0-11) got off eight shots on goal but couldn't find the back of the net. The Chargers defense stepped up in the second half, holding South Suburban to two goals during that time.
CSC's women's team also lost 10-0 on Saturday against Heartland. The visitors did not allow the Chargers a shot on goal in the match. Sandburg then lost 3-2 Sunday at South Suburban despite being outshot 24-11. A goal by the hosts in the 87th minute broke a 2-2 tie. Molly Kramer scored both of the Chargers' goals. The losses dropped the CSC women's team record to 2-6 on the season.
The men's team resumes play on Friday at McHenry and the women are off until Saturday, when the team hosts Waubonsee.
