|High School Volleyball
Galesburg (7-9) defeated East Peoria (3-15) in straight sets (25-17, 25-18). East Peoria won the sophomore and freshman matches.
Rowva beat Mercer County in three games (25-23, 18-25, 25-18). Mercer County was victorious in both the junior varsity and freshman matches
Brimfield-Elmwood defeated Knoxville in two games (25-15, 25-17)
Lewistown stopped Abingdon in three games (25-16, 20-25, 25-20)
Williamsfield (5-13) downed Farmington (0-13) in three games (26-24, 20-25, 25-22)
Ridgewood beat Galva in two games (25-14, 25-23) for the Spartans' 13th win on the season
Princeville beat Wethersfield in three games (25-21, 13-25, 26-24)
Beardstown defeated South Fulton in two games (125-18, 25-16)
High School Boys Golf
Galesburg finished second in Monday's Western Big Six Conference meet at Oak Wood Country Club.
Quincy won the title, finishing five strokes ahead of GHS (319-324). Kelby Rescinito carded a 79 for the Streaks' top score and a second-place finish overall. Joey Juergens was next with an 80 and David Blake shot an 81 for Galesburg.
Monmouth-Roseville finished third at the Olympic Conference meet at Pinnacle Country Club.
Macomb was first with a 335. Rockridge was second. The Titans finished six strokes behind Rockridge with a team score of 361.
Alex Temple shot an 84 for Monmouth-Roseville, which was good for third place individually. Teammate B.J. Salyers shot an 86 and finished eighth overall. Both earned all-conference honors.
Orion finished fourth, Farmington fifth and Sherrard sixth.
Monmouth-Roseville won the fresh-soph team competition against Macomb and Sherrard.
Annawan-Wethersfield came up three strokes short against Bureau Valley (198-195) at Kewanee Dunes
Williamsfield lost to Norridge Ridgewood by 20 strokes (205-185) at Valley View. The Bombers were led by Alex Ott's 44.
High School Girls Golf
Galesburg and Quincy tied for the Western Big Six title at the conference tournament at Oak Wood Country Club.
The Silver Streaks and the Blue Devils both combined to shoot 362. Jessica Lieber and Marissa Vinson each shot 86s and notched all-conference honors.
Moline finished third, Alleman fourth and Rock Island fifth.
Mercer County outshot Mid-County 215-246 at Kewanee Dunes.
Jordan Nelson led Mid-County with a 56. Kim Litchfield was next with a 61. Linsey Lundeen paced Mercer County with a 51.
High School Girls Tennis
Playing in windy conditions, Galesburg High School's varsity team earned their third consecutive dual meet victory, 7-2 against Macomb.
The Streaks won five of six singles and two of three doubles matches against the Bombers.
Galesburg scored 14 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 28-12 win against Rockridge.
The Streaks (3-2) got three touchdowns from Michael Varner (25, 38, 22 yard runs), who went over 100 yards rushing. Brandon Cervantez also scored for Galesburg on a 12 yard run.
GHS plays Saturday at 11 a-m at home against Quincy.
