High School Volleyball

United remains undefeated after a win against Ridgewood in Lincoln Trail Conference play.

The Red Storm (18-0) beat the Spartans (13-4) in two games: 25-16, 25-11. The loss was the first for Ridgwood in conference play.


West Central beat Mercer County in three games: 25-20, 21-25, 25-21. The win was the first of the season for the Heat (1-17).


Illini West (11-9) downed South Fulton (10-9) in two games: 25-23, 25-18.

College Volleyball

Carl Sandburg College lost a non-conference match at home against the St. Ambrose junior varsity team in three straight sets (16-25, 19-25, 14-25).

The leaders for the Chargers were Brooke Thompson with 10 kills, Chelsea Simkins 4 kills and 1 ace, Malinda Anderson 4 kills and 1 ace and Trisha Beswick with 18 assists and 7 digs.

CSC resumes play today with a tri-match at home against Lincoln College and Southeastern College.

High School Boys Soccer

Galesburg earned its first win in two weeks against Monmouth-Roseville.

The Silver Streaks (7-1-5) shut out the Titans (7-3-1) 1-0.

The only score in the match came at the 38th minute mark when Mark Zhorne assisted on a goal by Jacob Krisher.

Galesburg outshot Monmouth-Roseville 8-7 on goal. The Streaks' Lucas Miller had 7 saves.

The previous three matches for Galesburg had ended in ties. The team's last win before yesterday was September 15th against Rock Island Alleman.

College Women's Soccer

Monmouth College lost at Illinois Wesleyan 3-0.

Illinois Wesleyan (9-0-2), ranked #5 in the nation, outshot the Fighting Scots 19-1 on goal.

The loss dropped Monmouth's record to 1-7-1 on the season.

High School Boys Golf

Knoxville came up short in a triangular meet with Orion and Sherrard at Valley View in Cambridge.

Orion and Sherrard both shot 184s. The Blue Bullets followed with a combined score of 190.

Logan Goff led Knoxville with a 43. Dan Soyanco was next with a 45.


Williamsfield won a dual meet against Farmington at Oak Run.

Billtown outshot the Farmers 171-177. The Bombers' Alex Ott shot an even-par 36, including four birdies, to earn the medal. Mitch Waggoner had one birdie and fired a 42, his lowest round this season.

Adam Camp birdied one hole and led Farmington with a 42. Teammate Daulton Davis also had a birdie and shot a 43.


Monmouth-Roseville defeated Kewanee at Baker Park.

Connor Gillen carded a 40 to lead the Titans (11-10) to a 10-stroke win over the Boilermakers (168-178).

B.J. Salyers shot a 41 and Kody Damewood contributed a 43 for M-R.


West Central won the Lincoln Trail Conference Railsplitter at Kewanee Dunes.

The Heat combined to shoot 346, 12 strokes better than second-place Ridgewood.

Mid-County finished third, followed by Mercer County, Annawan-Wethersfield, United, Stark County and Princeville.

High School Girls Golf

Mercer County and Mid-County finished first and second, respectively, at the Lincoln Trail Conference Railsplitter.
