HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
An Andrew Steck pass that could have tied the game for the Galesburg Silver Streaks is what ended up doing them in due to an interception, causing the Streaks to lose to Rock Island Alleman at home Friday night 21-7, helping the Pioneers remain unbeaten on the season at 5-0, and 2-0 in Western Big 6 Conference play, and handing the Streaks its second loss on the season, and first in conference play. (3-2, 1-1)
The Streaks Sophomores lost to Alleman 26-8, marking its first loss of the season.
OTHER SCORES
A big first half for the Mid-County Cougars helped them route River Valley Friday night, 50-0. Jesse Humphrey had three touchdown runs, and Matt Shepard had two, en route to victory.
Monmouth-Roseville scored 14 points in the 4th quarter, but allowed Orion to score 20, as the Chargers beat the Titans Friday night 35-28.
Knoxville got its third win in a row after starting the season 0-2, beating Elmwood-Brimfield 34-6.
United Quarterback Christian Schrader reportedly suffered a leg injury, but the Red Storm charged on and defeated Ridgewood 25-8. Three of United's touchdowns came in the first half, and were thanks to interceptions.

COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY
Augustana College hosted the annual Brissman-Lundeen Cross Country Invitational on Friday at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island. The Carl Sandburg men's and women's teams ran in the meet with the women placing 22nd of 24 teams and the men 25th of 26. University of Northern Iowa captured the team title on the women's side. UW-Stevens Point ran away as the team champion on the men's side.
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Carl Sandburg College defeated Waubonsee Community College in 3 games. The scores were 25-16, 25-19, and 28-26. CSC is now 10-5 in the season.
