Southern IL Routs Quincy
CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- Lucien Walker ran for 114 yards and three touchdowns as Southern Illinois routed Quincy 70-7 Thursday night in its season opener.

Chris Dieker threw two touchdown passes for the Salukis (1-0), who built a 28-7 halftime lead and scored 28 more points in the third quarter. Southern Illinois finished with 307 yards rushing and Shariff Harris ran for two touchdowns.

Bobby Brenneisen, who transferred to Quincy from Southern Illinois, threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Justin Dickens for the only score for the Hawks (0-1), who play in NAIA.

It was also Southern Illinois' first game in Saluki Stadium.
