| M.C.'s Bird Receives League Award |
No senior at Monmouth College has run an 8K cross country course as fast as Geoff Bird (Kenilworth, Ill./New Trier), and that distinction has earned him the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week in men's cross country.
Bird, a senior history major, had a history-making, record-setting day at the 26-team Brissman-Lundeen Invitational last Friday. He ran the fastest 8K time of any senior in the history of Monmouth College cross country with a time of 25:32.7. The time placed him 12th in the field of 375 runners, just eight seconds out of a top 10 finish.
