Cubs to Unveil Statue of Williams
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs are honoring Hall of Famer and left-handed hitter Billy Williams with a statue outside Wrigley Field.

The statue will be unveiled during a ceremony before Tuesday's game against Houston. The sculpture will be at the corner of Addison Street and Sheffield Avenue. It replaces late broadcaster Harry Caray's statue, which is now by the field's bleachers entrance.

Ernie Banks is the only other ballplayer to be so honored by the Cubs.

The decision to honor Williams with a statue was one of the first moves by new Cubs owner Tom Ricketts, a lifelong Cubs fan.

Williams hit 392 of his 426 homers as a member of the Cubs from 1959 to 1974. The Cubs formally retired his No. 26 uniform in 1987.
