| Bears S Chris Harris May Miss Panthers Game |
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Chicago Bears safety Chris Harris sounded pessimistic Friday about his chances of playing Sunday against his old team, the Carolina Panthers.
Harris (hamstring) will be a game-time decision after missing the last two games. Harris says he would love to face the Panthers, the team he played for from 2007-09.
The Bears did not allow a touchdown against Atlanta in the opener when Harris was on the field. They gave up six combined TD passes to New Orleans' Drew Brees and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers the last two games.
Brandon Meriweather and Major Wright would start at safety if Harris is unable to play.
The Bears said guard Lance Louis should return from an ankle sprain Sunday and running back Marion Barber is expected to see his first action for Chicago after a preseason calf injury. Tackle Gabe Carimi (knee) and wide receiver Earl Bennett (chest bruise) have been ruled out. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
