COLLEGE FOOTBALL
The losing streak continues for the Knox College Prairie Fire. The Fire lost to Midwest Conference rival St. Norbert 31-20. The Prairie Fire scored the first and last touchdowns of the game but couldn't come up with the win.
Monmouth College, meanwhile, got its first win of the season over conference rival Beloit Saturday 31-14.
HIGH SCHOOL GOLF
The Galesburg boys golf team placed first at the Metamora Invitational Saturday, shooting a team total of 318.
Galesburg girls golfer Jessica Lieber earned medalist honors Saturday at the Normal Community invitational. No team ranking for the Streaks, as they were one player short, forcing the team to play as individuals.
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING
The Galesburg girls swimming and diving team was victorious Saturday at the Rock Island Invitational. The Streaks placed first with 208 points, followed by Richwoods, Pleasant Valley, Dunlap, and Moline rounding out the top 5. Host Rock Island placed sixth.
COLLEGE GOLF
Monmouth College placed sixth at its own golf invitational yesterday at Gibson Woods in Monmouth. Mount Mercy College placed first at the event. Knox College placed 12th, while the Carl Sandburg College team did not finish.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL
Abingdon H.S. won the 2012 Macomb Invitational beating second place Knoxville H.S. 26-24 , 25-19 . Macomb H.S. was the third place winner beating the fourth place Williamsfield H.S. 25-9, 25-18.
COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY
Monmouth College's wonen placed fourth overall Saturday at the 50th annual Les Duke Cross Country invitational Grinnell Saturday, while Knox College placed 9th. On the men's side, Monmouth College placed 9th, while Knox College placed 10th. |
