|Tonights Local Sport's Schedule
The Galesburg High School volleyball team will bounce back into competition tonight as they travel to Geneseo. The Silver Streaks may have to shake off some rust, as they haven't played since September 2nd, and this will be their only match until Saturday when they go to the Quad Cities for the Western Big 6 Quad meet. Other volleyball matchups tonight include:
United at B-PC/Avon
Williamsfield at North Fulton
The Abingdon Commando girls had a successful weekend, as they took the title match against Knoxville to win the Macomb-Carl Sandburg College tournament at CSC.
The Galesburg girls tennis team will try to make the most of today's beautiful weather, as they host the Rock Island Rocks. The Streaks are looking for their second victory of the season.
Also in the great outdoors, a number of area boys golf teams will be out on the course today. Those matchups include:
Stark County and Princeville at Knoxville
Mercer County at Mid County
Monmouth-Roseville and Macomb at West Central
Williamsfield at Peoria Manual
Galesburg's George Carter, Jr. ran his professional boxing record to 7-0 with a six-round unanimous decision over Keith Collins of St. Joseph, Missouri Saturday night in Davenport. Carter's next bout is expected to be in November according to his manager Carlos Duncan.
