Volleyball

Some of the area high school volleyball teams will be on their home courts for conference matchups tonight. One of those will be Knoxville, where the Blue Bullets will host the South Fulton Rebels--who are coming off a win earlier this week against Abingdon. Speaking of Abingdon, the Commandos will try to bounce back tonight as they play host to Rushville-Industry. Also at home tonight are the Titans of Monmouth-Roseville, as they welcome the Rockridge Rockets. Meanwhile, the Williamsfield girls will try to rebound from a setback last night, as they travel to Illini Bluffs.

Galesburg

There are four events on the Galesburg High School sports schedule, with all of them dependent on the weather. If it doesn't rain too much, the Galesburg girls golf team will look to improve their record to 11-1 as they host United Township. The Galesburg boys will also be trying to continue their winning ways as they travel to Rock Island for a three team match that also includes Alleman. The GHS boys soccer team will make the trip up Route 150 to play the Orion Chargers, and the Streak's girls tennis team is scheduled to travel to Sterling.

Others

A few other area sports events include Knoxville hosting Farmington in boys golf, while United plays Williamsfield at Oak Run, and Monmouth-Roseville squares off with Mercer County at Hawthorne Ridge.

United Hall of Fame

United High School will induct three individuals into their Sports Hall of Fame tomorrow evening. Former coaches Donn Damos, Tim Engebretson, and Mary McIntosh will be honored for their service and dedication to the student-athletes at halftime of the varsity football game Friday night.
