HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

A late rally didn't help the Monmouth-Roseville Titans to victory. The Titans lost at home Saturday to Eastland-Pearl City 28-20, dropping them to 0-2 on the season.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

The Knox College Prairie Fire start the season 0-1 despite coming back from a deficit, losing to Eureka College in the annual "Lincoln Bowl" 21-17.

Monmouth College almost came from behind, but starts the season 0-1 after losing to Coe College 23-22. The start of the game was delayed several hours Saturday due to problems with Coe College's transportation.

HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

Dunlap's girls team won the Galesburg High School Cross Country invitational Saturday, while Metamora won on the boys side. Over 500 participated in the annual event. However, the Streaks did not field a full varsity team.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Knoxville came out the champion of the Monmouth-Roseville volleyball invitational hosted by Carl Sandburg College Saturday. The Lady Titans placed second, followed by United and Macomb. Monmouth-Roseville's Emma Willhardt was named the tournament MVP.

Chillicothe IVC won the Wethersfield Varsity Volleyball Invitational Saturday, defeating Orion. Wethersfield placed third, beating Princeville.

HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING

The GHS Girls Swim Team placed first at the Macomb Invitational Saturday. The host Bombers placed fourth.

COLLEGE GOLF

Mount Mercy College won the Monmouth College Fighting Scot Women's Invitational Saturday at Gibson Woods Golf Course. The host Scots placed fifth.

COLLEGE SOCCER

Monmouth College's men's team played Coe to a 1-1 tie Saturday, while the women's team dominated Coe 7-0.
