High School Volleyball

North Fulton defeated Knoxville in three games: 25-20, 20-25, 25-20.

Stephanie Lance led the Wildcats with 9 kills and 2 blocks. Stefani Martin had 26 digs.

Lindsay Olson had 4 kills, 9 aces and 1 block for the Blue Bullets. Andrea Wilhite added 10 digs and Amanda Dotson contributed 12 assists.


Brimfield-Elmwood downed Abingdon in two straight sets: 25-21, 29-27.

Paige Spietz and Maddie Watson each had 9 kills. Spietz also had 5 digs and Jess Bybee had 5 blocks.

Melissa Von Kannon led the Commandos with 6 kills, Dana Combs had 8 digs, Cordan Jones 11 assists, Amanda Sandrock 2 blocks and Sheridan Brown led with 6 service points.


Rowva beat Galva in two straight sets: 27-25, 25-23.

Whitney Stromson had 6 kills for the Tigers. Sarah DeSchepper added 6 assists and 7 services points and Grace Cleair had 13 digs.

Galva's Miranda Obunder had 4 kills, Morgan Nelson added 7 assists and Chloe McIntire had 4 digs.


Williamsfield stopped Midland in two games: 25-23, 25-20.


West Central lost to Annawan in two games: 19-25, 14-25.


Lewistown beat Farmington in three games: 26-28, 25-17, 25-14.

Kristyn LeGrande had 7 kills and 9 assists for the Indians (12-5). Bailey Hatfill added 6 kills, 8 digs and 14 service points. Kristen Porter contributed 18 service points and 12 assists.

Jen Zinkhan led the Farmers (2-15) with 8 kills and 8 digs.


Mercer County defeated Stark County in three games: 25-14, 23-25, 25-22.

Emily Frieden had 12 ills and 1 block for Mercer County. Teammates Allie Kellog had 7 digs and 4 aces and Averi Wilson recorded 16 assists.

The Rebels' Natalie Turner had 12 kills and 11 digs.


South Fulton (11-10) stopped Canton (6-12) in two games: 25-22, 25-18.

High School Boys Cross Country

Knoxville finished third in the 18-team Elmwood-Brimfield Cross Country Invitational at Maple Lane Country Club in Elmwood.

Canton won the meet. Elmwood-Brimfield was second and Monmouth-Roseville finished eighth.

Farmington's Chase Coffey won individual honors. Knoxville's Brett Curry finished second overall. Lewistown's Nathan Davis was fourth and Monmouth-Roseville's Gatlin Marlow was sixth.

High School Girls Tennis

Galesburg High School's varsity team won its fourth straight dual meet against Kewanee 9-0 on the home courts.

The Streaks are scheduled to host Moline on Tuesday, weather permitting.

Local College Sports

Monmouth College's men's soccer team lost at Millikin 3-2.

The Fighting Scots (2-7-0) got goals from Eddie Martinez in the 17th minute and Lucas Knox in the 77th minute.

The Big Blue improved to 5-6-1.
