Carl Sandburg College Men's Golf Team Headed to National Tourney
Carl Sandburg College's men's golf team didn't let the cold weather get in the way as the Chargers took second place in the Region IV Tournament at Prairieview Golf Course in Byron.

CSC had a team score of 950 in the ten-team tournament, resulting in a berth in the national tournament in Phoenix, AZ. The tournament appearance will be the first for the men's golf team in school history.

Freshman Jordan Lieber led the way for CSC with a three-day total of 235, good for fifth place individually. Teammate Chris Neal finished 8th overall after shooting a 239, Andrew Ledford was ninth with a 239 and Kyle McEwen shot 242 and finished 15th.

Blackhawk College claimed the team title with a score of 936, 14 strokes ahead of Carl Sandburg College.

CSC coach K.C. Harding was thrilled with his team's performance. "I am very proud of all of my guys. They left it all on the line (today) and came home with a berth to the National Championship. It's a great day in CSC golf history."

The national tournament will be played May 18-21 at Palm Valley Golf Course in Phoenix, AZ.
