|Hawkeyes Off to Best Start in 24 Years
|IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa's loftiest goals, a Big Ten title and a major bowl bid, seemed like a pipe dream by late October the past few seasons.
Not this year.
No. 11 Iowa (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten) is off to its best start since 1985, and the program's current 10-game winning streak is its longest since a 20-game stretch from 1920-23.
But Iowa hasn't exactly rolled over the competition, with three of its victories coming by a total of just six points. The question Iowa faces as it prepares for Saturday's game at Wisconsin (5-1, 2-1) is whether it can keep winning when its opponents still have a chance in the closing moments.
Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says with six tough games coming up the Hawkeyes don't need to worry too much about the big picture.
