WEEK NINE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RESULTS
Western Big Six Schools
Galesburg (4-5) ends the football season with a win at Pekin (2-7) 14-13.
Junior quarterback Andrew Steck connected with Aaron Meredith on a 29-yard scoring pass with 59 seconds to play in the game to get within one of the Dragons, 13-12. Jared Carl scored on a two-point conversion to put the Streaks up for good 14-13.
Steck scored Galesburg's other touchdown on a 12-yard run in the second quarter. GHS ends the season on a two-game winning streak.
Galesburg High School's freshman team blanked Pekin 28-0, the team's fourth shutout of the season. The Streaks end the season with a 6-3 record. The GHS sophomores play Pekin at home on Saturday.

West Prairie Trail Conference Schools
Abingdon (3-6) lost at Annawan-Wethersfield (8-1) 48-0 A&R (6-3) beat Cambridge (2-7) 41-0 to assure themselves a spot in the playoffs Knoxville (7-2) defeated Rushville-Industry (0-9) 32-6 United (8-1) beat Elmwood-Brimfield (1-8) 31-16 Bushnell-Prairie City-Avon (7-2) downed Havana (4-5) 34-14 Lewistown (7-2) defeated Peoria Heights (1-8) 32-0 West Central (0-9) lost to North Fulton (3-5) @ Spoon River Valley 58-12 Galva-Williamsfield (1-8) ends the season with a loss to Princeville (8-1) 40-0 Stark County (7-2) surprised Mercer County (7-2) 26-18 South Fulton (6-3) won at West Prairie (1-8) 44-12

Galesburg (12-5-5) wins the championship at the Class 2A Peoria Richwoods Regional, defeating Limestone (5-15) 3-1.
It's the first regional in the history of the GHS boys soccer program. Galesburg advances to next week's Morton Sectional. |
