Sabathia Hopes He's Not "Too Strong" for Game 1
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- CC Sabathia is ready. Just not too ready, he hopes.

When Sabathia starts Game 1 of the AL championship series Friday, it will be his first outing in nine days. The New York Yankees' ace went eight days between starts last time around and faced the oddity of being "a little too strong."

Sabathia wasn't sharp in Game 1 of the AL division series, but was good enough to get the Yankees rolling toward a sweep -- and, thus, another battle with the good news/bad news of a long wait between series.

This time, he got in an extra throwing session in hopes of having the right balance of rest and fatigue.

The big left-hander won his only start against the Texas Rangers this season, but it was way back on April 16.
