HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
Local football teams have once again made it to the playoffs. The IHSA released their playoff pairings Saturday, and while the Galesburg Silver Streaks didn't make it with their loss on Friday, there are a number of local teams who did.
CLASS 1A:
#8 Winnetka (North Shore Country Day) (5-4) at #1 Stark County (9-0) #7 United (5-4) at #2 Lewistown (9-0)
CLASS 2A:

HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS
Lake Forest High School is the IHSA State Champion in girls tennis, which had to be moved indoors to locations in Arlington Heights and Lake Bluff Saturday due to rain.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Homecoming weekend didn't go the way Knox College hoped it would. The Prairie Fire lost to Carroll College Saturday 35-0. The Prairie Fire (1-7, 1-6 MWC) were plagued by intersections and turnovers. Carroll (6-2, 5-2) had the Midwest Conference's top-rated defense going into Saturday's game, and it showed. Statistics and more detailed information were not provided by Knox College.
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
The Galesburg High School girls and boys cross country teams advanced to sectionals Saturday, after both teams placed third in the regional meet at Lake Storey. Dixon and Geneseo went first and second respectively in both divisions.
HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER
The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys soccer teams takes its second straight regional title, after shutting out Peoria Richwoods Saturday 1-0.
COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL
Lawrence University defeated Monmouth College Saturday three matches to one.
COLLEGE SOCCER
Carl Sandburg College's Men's Soccer team lost in regional play Wednesday to Elgin, 12-0. The women were shut out by Morton 11-0 in Regional Play Thursday.
