| Filppula's 2nd Goal Spoils Blackhawks Celebration |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Valtteri Filppula's second goal of the game snapped a third period tie, and the Detroit Red Wings spoiled the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup banner raising celebration with a 3-2 victory over Chicago on Saturday night.
Filppula exploited two breakdowns and scored on the power-play at 7:01 of the third, putting Detroit ahead 3-2.
Todd Bertuzzi had a goal and assist for the Red Wings (2-0).
Brent Seabrook and Bryan Bickell scored for the defending champion Blackhawks (0-1-1) in their home opener.
