| Mayweather To Stand Trial In Vegas Harassment Case |
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. is scheduled to stand trial on misdemeanor charges accusing him of threatening two homeowner association security guards in October 2010 outside his Las Vegas home. A prosecutor and an attorney for the 34-year-old boxer say Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Diana Sullivan was due to hear the case beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mayweather could face up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine if the judge finds him guilty of both harassment charges. He's accused of threatening to summon friends he called "homies'' with guns to handle a dispute with the two guards who ticketed several of his vehicles parked near his house in violation of association rules. Mayweather is 42-0 in his professional boxing career, with 26 knockouts. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
