| After Big Day In Game 2, Bullpen Rests |
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A travel day gave the Cardinals a welcome chance to recharge their bullpen. Six relievers helped St. Louis tie the best-of-five series against the Philadelphia Phillies at a game apiece. If Jaime Garcia falters in his first postseason appearance against fellow lefty Cole Hamels, there's plenty of arms manager Tony La Russa can count on. Of course, the team they're facing isn't one that rattles easily. The 102-win Phillies can draw on their season-long excellence and a 27-year-old starter who already has six career postseason victories and was the 2008 World Series MVP. Manager Charlie Manuel expects a loose, confident team to face the revived Cardinals in Game 3 Tuesday afternoon. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
