| Chicago Coaches Removed Over Fight Allegations |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Two Chicago football coaches have been removed from their positions amid allegations they were involved in a teen's beating. Chicago Public Schools says it has removed the Fenger Academy High School coaches pending an investigation. Police say the 16-year-old victim was attacked at his home on the far South Side Saturday afternoon. The victim's mother says her son was beaten by a group of boys who had been driven to their home by the coaches. She says the attack knocked the boy's prosthetic eye out of its socket and knocked out a tooth. Fenger gained international attention after the beating of honor roll student Derrion Albert was captured by a cellphone camera and played around the world. Five suspects were charged in that attack, and all are serving prison time. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
