The Quincy Blue Devils come to town tonight for a Western Big 6 football clash with our Galesburg Silver Streaks. Third place in the conference is on the line, as well as a potential playoff berth for both teams.
The Silver Streaks have also started slowly in the last two weeks, falling behind Alleman 21-0 and Rock Island 28-0 in the first half. Adding to the problems is the loss of star running back Jonathon Mixon, who is being held out of tonight's game with an ankle injury.
Broadcast time tonight is 7:05 here on WGIL. We'll talk soccer at halftime with Silver Streaks coach Phil Reddington.
Elsewhere in the Western Big 6 tonight, Rock Island plays Alleman at Moline's Browning Field for the conference championship, and Moline plays United Township at the Soul Bowl in East Moline.
