Soccer
The weather has improved greatly today, so that the Galesburg boys soccer team can play their Regional Tournament game against Peoria Richwoods. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday morning, but had to be pushed back to today due to rainfall. The winner will move on to play top-seed Peoria Notre Dame in the next round.
Volleyball
The Silver Streaks volleyball team has matches both tonight and tomorrow night. Canton comes to town this evening, followed by a trip to Alleman for the GHS girls on Tuesday. Other games to be played around the area tonight include:
Knoxville at B-PC/Avon Princeville at ROWVA Galva at United North Fulton at Brimfield/Elmwood Ridgewood at Stark County
Football
Friday night's double-overtime win by the Galesburg football team is likely to propel them into the IHSA playoffs. At 5-3, the Streaks would be considered "on the bubble" if they lose to Richwoods this week. However, the team picked up the maximum of six playoff points, as many of their opponents this year posted wins Friday night, to help the team's chances of getting a postseason berth. |
