Volleyball
The volleyball regular season begins to wind down ahead of next week's regional tournaments. There are a few matches on the schedule for tonight, including:
Galva at ROWVA Farmington at Abingdon Princeville at Williamsfield
The Galesburg freshman girls travel to Burlington this evening, while the varsity Streaks are practicing ahead of this week's Western Big 6 Quad. Streaks volleyball will be featured on this week's halftime report of GHS football, as we talk with head coach Marla Clay about her team tomorrow night on WGIL. In college play, the Carl Sandburg Chargers will be at the Kishwaukee Invitational.
Cross Country
The fall season is also winding down for area cross country runners. Galesburg will be hosting the regional this Saturday beginning at 10am at Lake Storey.
Football
Area football teams have one day of practice remaining before the regular season comes to an end tomorrow night. Galesburg may play a little longer, as the Silver Streaks have playoff hopes going into their meeting with Peoria Richwoods on Senior Night. Another key game in the area has rivals Abingdon and Knoxville playing on the Blue Bullets new turf. The Commandos have already secured a playoff berth, while the Bullets must win with a record of 4-4 going into the contest.
