The Galesburg Silver Streaks first IHSA football playoff appearance in 10 years comes up tonight in Bloomington as they face undefeated Normal U-High. Streaks head coach Tim Dougherty says this week has been business as usual for his team, even though they recognize that it's not just another game.
The 5th ranked Pioneers are led by sophomore quarterback Arion Worthman, but it's the U-High defense that has coach Dougherty more impressed.
Broadcast time is 6:30 with the kickoff at 7 here on WGIL. Our guest at halftime this week will be Silver Streaks boys basketball coach Mike Reynolds.
The only other area football playoff game tonight has Stark County hosting the United Red Storm in a rematch of a Lincoln Trail Conference game won last week by the Rebels 28-0.
In college football this weekend, Knox is idle, while Monmouth hosts Illinois College. Also, the Illinois Fighting Illini will play their homecoming game against Indiana. Broadcast time is 10:30 tomorrow morning here on WGIL. |
