POSTED 1:40 p-m 11/16/09 Five Knoxville football players are named first-team All-West Prairie Trail Conference in the Southeast Division.
The Blue Bullets finished 8-3 this past season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in four years. Two of the five players achieved the honor on both offense and defense.
Knoxville's first-team selections are senior Austin Robertson (G), junior Mitch Palmer (E, DB), senior Ricky Dredge (RB, LB), junior Logan Jacobs (DL) and senior Jacob Sharp (DE).
The Blue Bullet representatives on the all-conference second team are: seniors Bryce Ball (QB), Matt Geitner (OT), Brian Weis (RB) and Stuart Smith (DB).
Five seniors from Bushnell-Prairie City-Avon were named to the first-team. They are Brandon Coates (C, DE - unanimous), Robert Bowman (G - unanimous), Nathaniel Marshall (K - unanimous, OT, DL - unanimous), Trey Yocum (RB - unanimous, LB - unanimous) and Branton Waters (LB).
The Spartans had four players, all seniors, earn second-team all-conference recognition: Colin Douglas (RB, DB), Nick Wright (DL), Robert Bowman (LB) and Cedric Huffman (DB).
The other unanimous first-team all-conference players are seniors Sam Kachanuk of Havana and Danny Vance (DB) of South Fulton. |
