| Wozencraft Earns Second-Team All-Midwest Conference for Prairie Fire |
POSTED 11:29 a-m 11/19/09 Jeff Wozencraft has been named to the 2009-10 All-Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Second-Team.
The senior midfielder from Arlington Heights was a co-captain this past season and finishing fourth on the team in goals scored.
The 5'10" midfielder ended the 2009 season with two goals and two assists, tallying a combined six points in the process. He also took 11 shots, four of which were on goal. Both of Wozencraft's goals came on penalty kicks, as he became the "go-to" clutch shooter for the Prairie Fire. He could also be seen leading the offensive attack for Knox, playing the soccer equivalent of a "point guard" distributing the ball to his teammates to create goal scoring opportunities.
The Knox men's soccer team finished with a 3-15 overall record, including an 0-9 mark in MWC play. The Prairie Fire won their first match of the 2009 season in dramatic fashion, scoring in the final minute of double-overtime to beat MacMurray College 2-1 on September 20th. Wozencraft recorded an assist on the first goal of the game and played all 109 minutes to ensure a win for Knox.
Wozencraft appeared in 50 games during his Knox soccer career. He took 56 shots, scored 10 goals and recorded 7 assists for 27 career points.
