| White Sox Agree to Contract with Vizquel |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Omar Vizquel has agreed to $1,375,000, one-year contract with the Chicago White Sox.
The 42-year old Vizquel is an 11-time Gold Glove winner and has played mostly shortstop during 21 major league seasons. He figures to add depth to Chicago's young infield.
Vizquel hit .266 with one homer and 14 RBIs in 62 games with Texas this year. He had no errors in 207 chances while playing shortstop, third and second.
He will play for White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, a fellow Venezuelan.
