LeShoure Emerging as Answer at Running Back for Fighting Illini
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Three months ago, Illinois running back Mikel LeShoure was sitting out the Illini's home opener against Illinois State. He was forced to the bench for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Now, LeShoure is looking like the tailback of the future for 2-6 Illinois.

The sophomore has 272 yards on 33 carries the past two games.

LeShoure says sitting out against ISU made him realized he needed to regain his teammates' trust.

His 150-yard day against Michigan included a 70-yard touchdown in which he burst through the defense and showed surprising speed. He left several would-be tacklers behind.

Illinois quarterback Juice Williams called that impressive.
