| Double Honors From Big 10 for Illini QB |
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- The Big Ten has named Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase its offensive player and freshman of the week for his four touchdown passes and 118 yards rushing in the Illini's win over Purdue.
The redshirt freshman has been the conference freshman of the week four times this season while leading the Illini to a 5-3 start (3-2 Big Ten). This is his first offensive player of the week award.
Scheelhaase was Illinois' leading rusher in the 44-10 win over the Boilermakers and completed 16 of his 20 passes. He also didn't throw an interception.
The Illini travel to Michigan on Saturday looking for their sixth win and bowl eligibility. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
