| District 205 Formally Accepts Olson's Resignation, Makes Other Athletic Moves |
FIRST REPORTED 5:50am 11/9/10 Confirmation came Monday night that Galesburg High School Varsity Football Coach Wes Olson is indeed resigning from his position. The Galesburg School Board formally accepted the resignation of Olson, as well as that of longtime assistant coach Tom Hawkins at Monday night's meeting. Olson, who was at the helm of the Streaks football program for 5 years, will now be focusing more of his time in his administrative position at the District 205 alternative school.
Other athletic notes from Monday night's school board meeting show Sarah Larimer has been hired as the girls bowling coach, replacing Joni McGarry who recently resigned the postion. Also, Jared Hallam is on board as assistant boys swim coach, replacing Tom Burek. |
