| Illini Hope Defense Back in Shape Against Gophers |
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois gave up 676 yards and 67 points in last week's overtime loss at Michigan.
Minnesota interim head coach Jeff Horton doesn't believe that's the defense he'll see Saturday when the Gophers travel to Champaign.
And Illini head coach Ron Zook just hopes Horton is right.
Zook and Illinois (5-4, 3-3) are looking for win No. 6 and a trip back to the post season for the first time in three years.
With the struggling Gophers (1-9, 0-6) in town, you'd think they'd have the ideal opponent.
Zook, however, insists that Minnesota quarterback Adam Weber makes the Gophers an opponent to be feared. But with this season lost, some Minnesota fans are ready to see Weber give way to sophomore MarQueis Gray. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
