SIU Runs Past WIU
CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- Shariff Harris and Lucien Walker scored on 2-yard runs in the first quarter and Chris Dieker threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Cam Fuller to lead Southern Illinois to a 20-10 victory over Western Illinois on Saturday.

Steve Strother gained 150 yards on 29 carries for the Salukis (4-6, 3-4 Missouri Valley). They outrushed Western Illinois 254 yards to minus-7.

Dieker went 12-for-18 for 110 yards. He also rushed for 66 yards.

Western Illinois (6-4, 4-3) got its lone touchdown when Matt Barr connected on a 17-yard pass to Lito Senatus, who caught nine passes for 157 yards. Pat Smith added a field goal.

Barr went 23-for-44 for 343 yards but was sacked five times, three times by Jayson DiManche.

Harris' touchdown capped a season-long 17-play drive for Southern Illinois.
