HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team starts the season 4-1, after getting their first loss Saturday night, losing to Thornridge 53-44, after coming from behind earlier in the day to defeat Chicago Westinghouse 37-34. Had the Streaks won the nightcap, they would have forced a Thanksgiving Tournament tie-breaker with Moline. Drew Nall led the Streaks in the night game with 13 points.

Putnam County took both the Frosh/Soph Divisions of the Wally Keller Invitational at Wethersfield High School in Kewanee.
The GHS Girls take their Thanksgiving tournament title, defeating Illini West 83-44. Sharron Diggins led the Streaks with 22 points, 18 in the first half.
Knoxville's girls lost to LeRoy in the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday 63-50. Kelly Lenz led the Blue Bullets with 13 points.
HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING
The GHS Silver Streaks bowling team finished 16th out of 17 teams at the Rock Island Invitational Saturday. Collen Weichmann led the Streaks with a 1,111 series. |
