Local Sports Roundup 11/24/12
HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball team is now 2-and-1 on the season after splitting their games Friday at the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. The Streaks defeated Chicago Dyett Friday afternoon 65-49, led by Grant Gibson's 34 points. But the Streaks couldn't get past Chicago Westinghouse in the nightcap 51-48. Gibson had 17 points in that effort, but Travon Diggins led the Streaks with 19.

It's a big day of Silver Streaks basketball Saturday on AM 1400 WGIL and streamed online at WGIL.com, all apart of the Thanksgiving Tournament, as the Streaks boys will play Englewood with a pre-game at 11:40am and Limestone at 6:40pm. Inbetween, the GHS Girls will play Freeport at 5:40pm, and you can also hear the GHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony around 4:30pm, prior to the GHS Girls game, all on WGIL.
