|High School Girls Basketball
Galesburg High School split a pair of games.
The Silver Streaks connected on a season-high 18 three-point baskets and broke a state record with 73 attemps and beat Morton 83-67 in the team's opening game.
Ironically, Shelby Pacheco didn't hit a three-point shot and led the way with 21 points. Mickey Rodriguez canned six three-point shots and added 20 points and Jessica Howard scored 15 on five three-point bombs.
Galesburg lost to Peoria High School 90-81 in the second game.
The Streaks led 74-68 in the fourth quarter when PHS put together a furious run that Galesburg had no answer for defensively.
The Streaks made 12 more three-point shots in the game against the Lions, led by Howard's four and 16 points. Pacheco added 13. Tai Peachey and Sara Baker scored 10 points apiece in the loss that dropped Galesburg's record to 6-5.

Knox College lost to the University of Dubuque 77-54. Ben Wetherbee led the Prairie Fire (1-5) with 15 points.
High School Boys Swimming & Diving
Galesburg High School came up just short in a dual meet at home against Moline.
The Maroons sealed the victory by a 94-92 score with a first-place finish in the final event.
The Streaks, which appeared to the underdog going into the meet, posted some impressive performances and won three events, including a pair of 1-2-3 sweeps in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. A multitude of second and third-place finishes kept GHS in the meet to the finish.

High School Girls Bowling
Galesburg High School's varsity team finished 7th out of 12 teams at the United Township Invitational. Kendra Weichmann took third place with a high game of 225. The Silver Streaks junior varsity team finished third overall.
