Mid-Winter/King Classic:

Galesburg High School split a pair of games.

The Silver Streaks connected on a season-high 18 three-point baskets and broke a state record with 73 attemps and beat Morton 83-67 in the team's opening game.

Ironically, Shelby Pacheco didn't hit a three-point shot and led the way with 21 points. Mickey Rodriguez canned six three-point shots and added 20 points and Jessica Howard scored 15 on five three-point bombs.

Galesburg lost to Peoria High School 90-81 in the second game.

The Streaks led 74-68 in the fourth quarter when PHS put together a furious run that Galesburg had no answer for defensively.

The Streaks made 12 more three-point shots in the game against the Lions, led by Howard's four and 16 points. Pacheco added 13. Tai Peachey and Sara Baker scored 10 points apiece in the loss that dropped Galesburg's record to 6-5.
