High School Sports News

The Monmouth-Roseville varsity softball team has a new coach in place.

The District 238 School board last month hired Tom Casteel as the Titans' coach. He replaces John Biggs, who resigned in July for unspecified reasons. Biggs coached the Titans softball team for four seasons and compiled a record of 24-69. The team last season finished with a 7-19 mark, the most wins under Biggs.

Casteel is a retired teacher. He coached softball in the past at Alwood and has also coached football. Casteel most recently volunteered with the Monmouth-Roseville football team.
