| Chargers Clinch Bye with 10th Straight Win |
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Catch the San Diego Chargers before December rolls around. The Chargers scored their 18th straight December victory with a thorough 42-17 thrashing of the Tennessee Titans. With their 10th straight victory overall, the AFC West champion San Diego Chargers clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC and earned the all-important first-round bye in the playoffs. Little Darren Sproles came up big for the 12-and-3 Chargers. Sproles ran for two scores and caught a TD pass for the Chargers, who tied the 1970-74 Miami Dolphins for most consecutive victories in a month. Philip Rivers threw a pair of TD passes and LaDainian Tomlinson ran for two scores for the Chargers. The loss eliminates the 7-and-8 Titans from the playoff hunt.
