| Rams Backup QB Aims to Cut Down on Mistakes |
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- If Kyle Boller is auditioning for a new deal with the St. Louis Rams, he has yet to impress. The backup quarterback is getting an extended opportunity, perhaps the rest of the season, given that Marc Bulger is on crutches with a fractured left shin bone. But Boller realizes he must weed out the mistakes that have marred his play. Boller threw two interceptions last week and is responsible for seven turnovers in only 14 quarters this season. One of the picks last week was in the Seahawks end zone, negating a scoring opportunity. The other was deflected by a defender and returned 65 yards for the go-ahead score in the 27-17 loss. Despite the mounting mistakes, Boller said he'll be aggressive against Chicago this weekend. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
