High School Boys Basketball - Holiday Tournaments
@ Charleston:
Galesburg won both of its games, one of them by coming from behind and the other in a blowout.
The Silver Streaks opened against Charleston on the Trojans' home floor at Baker Gymnasium and shocked the hosts 62-56. Galesburg battled back from a 20 point deficit late in the second quarter and outscored Charleston 39-15 in the second half to claim the win.
Victor Davis led the Streaks with 30 points. Dalton Davis added 14.
Galesburg hammered Taylorville in the second game of the day 76-17.
The Streaks scored the first five points of the game before Taylorville (0-12) answered with a basket. Galesburg (7-6) then scored 29 straight points and led 41-6 at the half and cruised the rest of the way.
Garrett Williams scored 15 points to lead Galesburg. The Streaks play in the third-place game at 5:45 p-m against Teutopolis. Coverage follows the Silver Streak girls' third-place game against Effingham at 4:30. The pre-game begins at 4:06 p-m on WGIL AM 1400.

GHS Freshman Boys Basketball team takes third place in the Moline tournament Tuesday, defeating the host Maroons 48-30. The Streaks Freshman are now 4-4 on the season and will next play January 7th, again versus Moline at home.

@ Charleston:
Galesburg split its two games on Tuesday, falling to undefeated Charleston and rebounding in the nightcap against Taylorville.
Galesburg led the first three quarters against the Trojans (16-0) on their home floor but got outscored 34-24 in the final stanza and lost 89-83.
Jessica Howard led the Silver Streaks with 20 points.
Galesburg found its shooting eye against Taylorville at Lantz Arena, connecting on 11 three-point baskets in the first half en route to a 79-50 victory against the Tornados (3-10).
Mickey Rodriguez led Galesburg (10-7) with 15 points on five three-point bombs. The Silver Streaks play Effingham in the third-place game Wednesday at 4:30 p-m. Coverage begins at 4:06 on WGIL AM 1400.
