|UNDATED (AP) -- Virginia Tech scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to thrash Tennessee 37-14 to win the Chick-Fil-a-Bowl.
The Hokies' defense sacked Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton five times as Virginia Tech won its 10th game. it's the sixth straight season the Hokies have won at least 10 games, second-longest streak in the nation behind Texas with nine.
This is the first time in Hokies' history they have won back-to-back bowl games.
Freshman running back Ryan Williams had his 10th 100-yard rushing game of the season. He carried 25 times for 117 yards and two TDs. Williams became the Hokies' single-season rushing leader with 1,655 yards and set Atlantic Coast Conference records with 21 rushing touchdowns and 22 total touchdowns this season.
It's the fifth straight game in which the 12th-ranked Hokies have blanked their opponent in the second half. Virginia Tech finishes 10-and-3 while Tennessee winds up 7-and-6.
Elsewhere on the final day of 2009 gridiron action:
Navy's vaunted triple-option offense proved way too much for Missouri's 12th-ranked defense. The Middies amassed 385 rushing yards in running all over Missouri 35-13 to win the Texas Bowl to end a three-game losing streak in bowls.
Ricky Dobbs ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Dobbs also threw a touchdown pass to Bobby Doyle and Marcus Curry ran for a score for the Midshipmen. Navy won time of possession by nearly 22 minutes and ran 81 offensive plays to only 57 for the Tigers.
Ryan Broyles set a Sun Bowl record with three touchdown receptions and Landry Jones passed for 416 yards to lead Oklahoma past Heisman runner-up Toby Gerhart and No. 19 Stanford 31-27.
Broyles finished with 156 yards receiving and set Oklahoma's single-game record with 13 receptions. Jones completed 30 of 51 and connected with Broyles on TD strikes of 30, 13 and 6 yards.
Gerhart, who led the nation with 1,736 yards rushing, ran for 133 and scored two TDs.
A punishing ground game and opportunistic secondary led Air Force to a 47-20 rout of Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Asher Clark and Jared Tew each ran for more than 100 yards with two touchdowns as the Falcons piled up 402 yards on the ground. And the nation's top-ranked pass defense picked off NCAA passing leader Case Keenum six times.
Alexander Robinson ran for 137 yards, and Austen Arnaud threw for one touchdown and ran for another as Iowa State defeated Minnesota 14-13 in the Insight Bowl.
Iowa State finishes 7-and-6, the Cyclones' first winning season since 2005.
Iowa State won for the third time in 10 bowl games -- and the second in Arizona. Minnesota is now a three-time loser in the Insight Bowl.
