| Dick Enberg to Call MLB Games for Padres |
SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Dick Enberg says he's taking the San Diego Padres' TV play-by-play job because he wants to, not because CBS is pushing him out the door. Enberg was introduced Thursday during a press conference at home plate at Petco Park. He signed a multi-year deal to call between 110 and 120 games per season. Using a baseball euphemism, Enberg said he still has his fastball, even if he doesn't locate it as well. Enberg will continue to call Wimbledon and hopes to be able to do the U.S. Open. He lives in the La Jolla district of San Diego. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
